Palatino infantiles forms a part of the Stop and Look! urban art project organized by the City of Culture Foundation Helsinki and the State Committee for the Purchase of Art Works. The project in turn was part of Helsinki’s European City of Culture programme in the year 2000. In the artist’s own words, ”the piece is a combination of modern sculpture and a gazebo/!?/. It is a memorial consecrated to future generations. Children’s Temple reaches from the end of the year 2000 forward to something that does not yet exist but in which we must have faith”. The monument is located on the upper level of the library of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki. It is made of 4 mm thick steel plate that has been welded, sandblasted and painted white. It is 3.20 m high and has a diameter of 90 cm.
