This environmental work of art is located in front of an office building. Its name, `Natura non facit saltus', means that nature, or evolution, does not progress by leaps. With an ironic undertone, the work emphasizes nature's power and ability to grow despite the obstacles created by man-made surroundings. Its first bulge means that beneath the surface, hidden powers are on the move. The second bulge, rising from the level concrete surface, already crumbled at the top, and in the third the forces of nature have broken free from their concrete shell in a verdant explosion; obstacles are always merely temporary to nature and life. The work was unveiled in 1990 and its materials are steel- reinforced concrete and plants (serviceberry).
