Vuosaari’s former stone quarry site was transformed to the Black Stone Park and is now home to Anu Kiiskinen’s winding-landscape creation named Elo (transl. Harvest), which undulates through the park. Materials for the landscape work were local black stones, both large blocks as well as broken parts, indigenous of the site.
The idea for Kiiskinen’s other work, a steel sculpture entitled Yesterday Today Tomorrow developed, was developed whilst planning the work Elo. It is located on the western side of the park and was built several years before the park was fully completed.
