Felix Nylund's art displays a respect for pure sculptural shape. While his early works flow with soulful and lyric atmosphere, he later turned towards more stylized and clear form. The relief Ehrenström and Engel depicts the planners of Helsinki's city centre facing each other. The piece is inscribed with the text "J.A.Ehrenström 28.8.1762- 15.4.1874 C.J.L.Engel 3.7.1776-14.5.1840 Nämä miehet loivat Helsingin monumentaalisen keskuksen - Dessa män skapade Helsingfors monumentala centrum. Helsinki-Seura, Helsingfors- Samfundet Pro Helsingfors" (J.A.Ehrenström August 28, 1762- April 15, 1874 C.J.L.Engel July 3, 1776-May 14, 1840 These men created the monumental centre of Helsinki.)
Felix Nylund died just before the relief was completed. It was finished by Oskari Jauhiainen and Aimo Tukiainen on the basis of original drawings. In addition, Emil Wikström and Viktor Jansson supervised the work. The work was unveiled in 1941 and it is made of bronze.
