Orangerie Antero Toikka’s work already started a moving sculpture series 1991. According to the artist, the deep orange of the steel sculpture is a reminder of winter gardens, greenhouses and oranges on sale in a Mexican market. Orangerie started it’s journey in June 2007 from the Sinebrychoff park in Helsinki, from there it moved to Katajannokka (an area in Helsinki) and then continued its journey to areas in Helsinki of Kaivopuisto, Rautatieasema, Hakaniemi, Eteläranta and then finally for Christmas 2007 to the City of Turku. Nowadays the sculpture is not in a public space. The images above show the work in locations along its journey in Katajannokka and Kaivopuisto.
Other works by Toikka include the works Himmeli (A handwork Christmas hanging), Puotilan leikkiniityllä.
