The stone is a ornamental black granite slab with a text both on the front and the back. The text on the back says "Itsenäisyyden kuuselle: Huokukoon tämä kuusi halki myrskyjen, pilvisäiden, kautta aurinkoisten tyvenien, kautta kutsuvien kuutamoiden, kautta tummuvien öiden, kanssa luonnon suuren kuoron, luonnon suuressa salissa, kanssa laulavien lasten, parissa partasuiden virttä: Oi Herra, siunaa Suomen kansa."
